Let's Meet Di

Have you ever wondered about the girls behind layouts? Well here's your chance to get a peek at Lyndsay's Creative Team and I found it only suiting to feature our fearless leader, Di, first!

1. Your Name
Di Basnett. I'm known as scrappydi around the forums

2. Your Photo

3. How long you've been on Lyndsay's team?
Just a little over a year now. It's amazing how quick that time has gone.

4. Your favourite Lyndsay product
Boy...there's so many awesome kits to choose from. But if I had to pick one, I'd say Crosswords of Love

5. Your favourite layout created using Lyndsay's stuffs
It's the layout I made with Crosswords of Love. I love the pics of my DD that I used in the kit. They bring back happy memories.

6. Where do you get/what gives you - your scrapping inspiration
Most of my scrapping is about my DD, Emma. I don't have many pics from my own childhood, so I want to make sure she has memories to look back on. I am also trying to do more layouts about myself, so that there is some sort of 'legacy' when I'm gone. LOL! I love using templates, I love to see a blank canvas come to life with the added papers and elements. I also love looking through the galleries, and getting layout inspiration from the great scrappers in the community.

7. Do you usually start with the picture or the paper?
I usually start with the pic, then match the papers and elements to suit the story or theme I want to portray. Occasionally if I absolutely love a kit or paper, I will scrap the page...and then add the pics later, but this is rare.

8. Your favourite snack/drink while you scrap
I'm a coffee addict, so it's usually coffee. And if I'm really naughty I'll have a Tim Tam (a decadent Australian biscuit - covered in chocolate, chocolate in the middle, you know the sort! You can bite off each end, and suck your coffee up through the middle...it's awesome!)

9. Anything else you want to tell everybody?????
I'm a night owl, rarely going to bed before midnight. It makes getting up in the morning really hard!

10. A link to your SO gallery
Di's SO Gallery

Cheers,
Di x

Well, I hope you have all enjoyed getting to know Di a little bit better, I know I have.
Until next time I hope have a wonderful day!

Happy Scrapping

Customer Spotlight

Lyndsay's kits are amazing! I think we all will agree! Every last one of her kits inspires us and even helps us preserve our memories in some way or another. Browsing through her gallery at Scrap Orchard was so much fun. WOW!! There are some really amazing layouts made with her kits!!
Today I get the privilege of seeking out a customer who has scrapped a layout using one of Lyndsay's products. I found this layout by Chelle aka Roxxygerlie.
She used this Squeaky Clean a collab by Lyndsay Riches Designs and Ziggle Designs for her layout!

I asked Chelle some questions that she was kind enough to answer.

What drew you to this particular kit? I have so many bath pictures that I need to scrap and I love the wonderful colors and the fun elements! How long have you been scrapping? I've been scrapping for a little over a year now!
Have you always been a digi scrapper or do you also paper scrap? I have never paper scrapped! I am not good with scissors and glue! Only Digi for me!
What are your favorite things to scrap about? I love to scrap pictures of my 2 and a half year old daughter. I think they'll be great memories for the both of us one day!
What are your favorite items to scrap with? I love flowers and ribbons. You can never have too many flowers and ribbons!

It was so fun to get to know a bit more about Chelle. Thanks Chelle, for taking the time to answer my questions. Roxxygerlie will get a coupon to Lyndsay's store to say thanks for participating.

Hybrid Goodness!

Hey all, Ellie here with my first blog post for Lyndsay Riches Designs!
So I've been looking through Lyndsay's gallery and there were some hybrid projects that have jumped out at me so I thought I'd share them with you :)
Have you tried a hybrid project yet? I think like most peeps I was intimidated by the whole sissors and glue thing, but once I'd tried one project I wanted to make more! For every hybrid project I make, I always use a template of some kind (except for cards - they're just like mini layouts to me that I cut up and stick together!). If you're not sure about making the jump into hybrid then why don't you buy/pick up a freebie hybrid template & have a go?! You can start with something simple like this pillow box that Sally (KyRainbow) made... (all images are clickable for credits/store links)
She used a freebie pillow box template and this kit by Lyndsay

Now for those of you that are old hands at hybrid (which I am not by any means!) here's something that may inspire you by alienxx
She used this kit - a collab between Lyndsay Riches & Simply Scraps. And finally here's a couple of projects using Spring Flings and Easter Things - one of my favourite kits by Lyndsay :)

This one is by LoriJ

And this one is by me :)

That's all I have for you you today, I hope I've inspired you to take that step into creating hybrid projects with your digital supplies :)

Blast From The Past - Kissing Frogs

Happy Wednesday everyone! Helen here to bring you a blast from the past! I remember falling totally IN LOVE with this kit the first time I saw it in the Scrap Orchard market. That froggy and his big brown eyes hooked me from the get-go. The quilted mushrooms....fantastic word art....delicious papers....and a little bling thrown in for good measure. What more can you ask for?

I cannot imagine anyone who does not already own this. However, in case you don't or {gasp} have never seen this kit, here is a preview. FYI, the preview is linked to the store so if you are like me and HAVE to have it....you are all set.

And, of course, we cannot show you a preview without showing you some wonderful and inspiring layouts using the Kissing Frogs kit. And again, all the images below are linked to the gallery so if you get a chance, go leave them some love :)

Kiss A Lot of Frogs

I hope you enjoyed today's Blast From The Past feature. We would love to be linked up to any layouts you may have already done with this kit....just leave a comment :) Have a great day!
